Rowing away from the rocks
From the category archives:
Skate legend and punk rock dude Duane Peters coming topside out of somebody’s dry pool, circa ’81 (courtesy of Thrasher magazine). I stopped caring about skateboarding about the time this photo was taken, but I remember a neighbor of mine had a Duane Peters deck.

Of all the dudes who brought big wave surfing to the forefront in the 1970s, none had more panache or personal style than Mark Richards. The long-armed Aussie was known for the lightning bolt that adorned his single-fin boards. And, like all things, vintage surfing has been hipsterized, in the form of retro boardshorts and a surf shop in the middle of SoHo.
Go big or go home.

An epic bmx crash & burn, found at the fine We Mine Deeper. The photo was undated. Though it has the look and feel of a vintage early 80s bailout I think it’s probably no more than 3 years old (Bone Deth is a current troupe).
Dude must be 20-foot plus in the air, no matter what decade the photo was taken. Ouch.
