In Defense Of Instant Coffee (Sort Of)

old-maxwell-house-instant-coffee-tin-45372.jpg

Though the curmudgeon in me is generally opposed to all things new and easy (especially when they come from Starbucks), it's worth nothing that the new line of instant coffee from the Seattle-based conglomerate is not awful. They call it VIA. I guess the name is meant to imply speed while sounding vaguely Latinate.

All I can say is that it makes a decent cup of coffee on the fly. And unlike the in-store version, it doesn't have a bitter, overly roasted flavor.
